Latex cosplay: the guide

Latex has a special place in cosplay: it shines like armour, follows the silhouette and gives bold colours, perfect for heroes from comics, manga or video games. Our designs are original creations inspired by these worlds, which you adapt to your character through the cut and the colours. Here is how to choose your outfit and wear it well.

Choosing the silhouette

Start from your character’s silhouette, then play with the colours.

  • Heroes with lines: Volt and its fine contrast lines, Duel and its asymmetric shoulder.
  • Hood or full head: Athena, Nightfall, or Scarlet, which covers the whole body.
  • Warrior look: Amazone, with its heart cut-out and spiked epaulettes.
  • Vigilante mask: the Héraut, Abysse or Vigile hoods, with contrast outlines.

Colours and details

A character is recognised first by its palette. Our outfits come in 82 colours, with a contrast colour for piping, lapels or stripes: enough to match your hero’s palette.

Details matter too: lapels, pockets and epaulettes on Kommandeur, a contrast collar on Baron, sheer shoulders on Arachne. Our colour chart helps you put it all together.

Uniforms and role play

Cosplay does not stop at heroes: a nurse with the Nursy dress and mask, a maid with Lisette, Babette or Manoir and their headpiece, a waitress with Bistrot, or a military-inspired outfit. All these designs are in Uniforms & role play.

Getting ready for a convention

  • Order early: every outfit is handmade, so allow about 5 weeks of making, plus delivery.
  • Go made to measure: an outfit made to your measurements fits better all day long and in photos. See our made-to-measure page.
  • Do a test run at home a few days before, to get used to putting the outfit on.
  • Check the convention rules about tight-fitting outfits and props.

On the day

  • Getting dressed: a silicone dressing aid makes the latex slide on in a few minutes. See how to put on a latex catsuit.
  • Shine: a thin layer of silicone just before the photos gives a mirror effect. Keep a soft cloth in your bag.
  • Heat: latex does not breathe. Drink often, take breaks in the shade and avoid direct sun.
  • Props: watch out for sharp props, jewellery and rough seats. Copper and brass stain latex.
  • After the day: rinse, dry and store the outfit away from light, as explained in our latex care guide.
